taking the High Road...
so I had Friday on my mind because I wanted to talk to 1st District Supervisor Carbajal about Caltrans...Salud had a meet and greet at the Montecito Farmers Market..so into town I went..what beautiful day..sunny and warm..I took a little trip thru Montecito..got high on High Road, swung by Randy VanWinkleloser's place...actually, the old village is looking really good so keep up the good work everybody! So I parked in front of the Chinese Restaurant and walked towards the hippie market when I see a Montecito prostitute talking to a guy in Mercedes!! hey it's a tough economy so I let it pass...there's Salud....I walk up to his little meeting area..he's talking with some other guy..Salud's assistants, a girl and a guy said he'd be done in a minute..so a minute passes and he's done and I wave like I know everybody and Salud thinks I know the other guy he's talking to, but I don't so I introduce myself and Salud says: this is Bob Hazard... a little bell goes off and I say: Bob Hazard! that same guy who is trying to kill all the eucalyptus trees on East Valley Road with help from Montecito Journal publisher Jim Buckley..knuckleheads... I told him: gee Bob, you shouldn't be so afraid of eucalyptus trees..he says he'd like to talk to me sometime about that and wanders off..he was a skinny old dude no wonder he's afraid of tree branches...a twig might kill him!!
I gave Salud some info on the Caltrans wasteful roadside planting/ irrigation/fertilization/native only/ poison all the weeds project that I object to... I said that he interfaces more with Caltrans and can he ask them why they are spending my money on wasting water and ignoring the highway potholes...he said he would look into it and I know he will...I've asked him to do stuff in Carp and he responds quickly...he is a great supervisor!! so I'll see what happens...
then I go get a haircut at Arturo's on upper State and there's a bunch of Marines in there getting trimmed..I go in and sit on the chair and tell the gal to cut my hair like theirs..short..they laughed and she cut me but good...that's my 9/11 tribute to those who died and the fighting men and women of the Armed Forces, who do the best they can under nearly impossible circumstances..let's think about that next time we invade a country...hey I look kinda cool...ugly, but cool... like a Marine!
then I go to the Harbor and walk on Leadbetter beach...it's so nice and then I see Dr. Laura's new boat docked. It's called the Black Fin in honor of the black people she mocked like dogs a few weeks ago on her radio show....good gal!!
everyone gets a gold star today!!!
