This is my director's cut of a short day well spent with Kiefer. He's a joy to work with, hits every mark you show him, and springs into character immediately, not to mention he's just a regular, humble dude who likes to have fun.

The story behind the eighth season of 24 was set in NYC, though the production was shot entirely in LA. To establish the new landscape for Jack Bauer, we teamed with Kiefer Sutherland to shoot an ambitious narrative through the busy streets of Chinatown, Manhattan.
My instincts were to create a context that immediately engaged the character. The chase and capture storyline follows Jack as he pursues a fugitive suspect in question. With the shooting schedule especially tight, set ups were captured on the run with Kiefer delivering the intensity and integrity that defines him as one of the best. Kiefer has always been good to me; he is the real deal, on and off the set. Thankfully, we all made it home from NYC in one piece. Two weeks later, my son Lincoln was born.
