Top 10 TV Premieres in 2010: 24 (E! Onliine)
All this week, we're counting down the most anticipated series of the new year and recommending what to watch and what highlights to expect from 2010's top TV. Coming in at No. 4 is that show that does more in an hour than others do all year long...
24 (Fox)
Premieres: Jan. 17, 9 p.m.
Starring: Kiefer Sutherland, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Anil Kapoor, Annie Wersching, Mykelti Williamson, Katee Sackhoff, Chris Diamantopoulos, Freddie Prinze Jr., Cherry Jones, David Anders, Elisha Cuthbert, Gregory Itzin, Domenick Lombardozzi, Callum Keith Rennie, Stephen Root, Paul Wesley, Jennifer Westfeldt
Status: Returning for season eight
Check out that cast list above. Starbuck from Battlestar Gallactica (Katee Sackhoff), Sark from Alias (David Anders), Stefan from Vampire Diaries (Paul Wesley) and the real Mrs. Don Draper (Jennifer Westfeldt)...Seriously, what more could you want from a season of 24?! Well, we just chatted with Kiefer Sutherland himself, and here's what he tells us exclusively about the new season...
After eight years of doing 24, how do you and the other producers keep it fresh? How do you keep the fans from figuring out the formula and getting bored?
We'll throw a couple things at you that you didn't expect, that you didn't see coming, and we want to keep you guessing. This is a thriller, and we want to make it as thrilling as possible. I think there's some emotional stuff that happens in this season that is new. [Jack] is a character that is constantly reflecting now back on things he's done, and there is an inner kind of pain that comes along with that. There is also now a desire in this character to have a life outside of his obligations to CTU.

We know this season centers around the assassination attempt of a Middle Eastern leader (Slumdog Millionaire's Anil Kapoor) amid the signing of a peace treaty at the United Nations. What else can you tell us?
There are certain things you come to rely on with 24, so it's not gonna be a good day for Jack Bauer. It's gonna be a tough day for him, and we used New York as a backdrop and we shot a little bit there. We've also shot predominantly in Los Angeles, but there's a kind of an energy in New York that suits our show. So we're very excited to have that as part of it. And the show is also grounded this year in a very realistic political potential—the disruption of a potential Middle East peace conference.

What's Jack's state of mind?
At the beginning of this season, he's very positive and very hopeful for the rest of his life. He's become reunited with his daughter (Elisha Cuthbert) and he has a granddaughter, so he sees this opportunity to not only reconnect with his family but to actually have a life for himself—but that gets put into jeopardy over the course of this day. And they pull me back in.

And we hear Freddie Prinze Jr. is sort of the new Jack?
He's been wonderful. He plays a young CTU agent. At the beginning of this season I am not working for CTU, I'm not working by the FBI, I'm not ordered by the president to do anything. I'm simply helping out, and clearly something goes terribly wrong. Freddie is actually the guy who took over what Jack did. He's a little younger than I am, so he has some things to learn.
Mark your calendars: 24 has a two-night, four-hour premiere on back-to-back nights (Jan. 17 and Jan. 18). Although the first two hours are a slow burn (truth told, I dozed off once or twice), you can expect to be fully sucked in by the end of the third hour, thanks to a few twists you won't expect and a truly solid and intriguing storyline from Starbuck herself, Katee Sackhoff. So be patient.
Happy New Year Mr. President: You Suck!
As we close on 2009, the magical aura of President Barack Obama is a faded memory. It all started with so much promise on Inauguration Day where millions of people we’re duped into believing an historic event, the election of Barck Obama as the first Black president, was in itself worthy of voting for him.
“This is history!” they all proclaimed.
That seems to be the only selling point Liberals have to sell. Unfortunately, for millions of the “duh-crowd”, that was enough of an incentive.
But, did it ever occur to anyone that “history” can be either “good” or “bad”. Or is it too much to ask people to think beyond slogans?
We’re hearing the same rhetoric about ObamaCare—it’s historic legislation. But, please ignore the increase in insurance premiums, the rationing of care, and when you do get care, it will be inadequate and many will die that did not die before.
How else do you think Democrats will cut costs?
Yes, we have an historic president and terrorists still want to kill us.
Yes, we have an historic president that never ran a business or a state, or even a rinky dink village, and it shows with each passing day. Obama is good at posing as a president, but not governing like one.
Yes, we have an historic president that thinks it’s better to apologize for America's past without acknowledging her glory.
Yes, we have an historic president that promises transparency only to operate behind closed doors under the cover of deceit to buy votes.
Yes, we have an historic president, but is that helping people pay the bills?
So what has history gotten us?
More terrorists attacks than under President Bush!
National pride down the drain!
10% Unemployment!
Mortgage defaults increasing and foreclosure on the rise!
National Debt that our great great great grandchildren will have to pay back!
There isn’t an abortion procedure that Obama doesn’t like.
But, President Obama gives himself a B+ anyway.
Yeah, history is a hoot and ignorance is bliss.

Criminal Minds Schedule for Jan 2
journey through the past...
2009 was a very good year! (for me)
We (at least I) had lots to be thankful for..It was a year of the blogger...bloggers kicked some ass and newspapers and radio monopolies couldn't compete...they thought they could control the public with a steady supply of lies but the internet shifted the power to the little guy..how cool is that!! Conservatives started scrambling to put up websites, but since they never worked for a living, all they could offer is some lame content and beg for donations..
News-Press had a bad year with bad management, bad decisions, and no oversight creating a paper that serves only a handful of Ayn Rand followers! and Travis Armstrong, who was called the editor, kept repeating himself in editorials to the point of insanity...he left the paper and city with his gay boyfriend, having burned every bridge except for his three amigos: Joe Armendariz, Terry Tyler and Lanny Ebenstein..all three still waiting for Wendy McCuckoo to support them financially!
Dr. Laura (Doctor!! hahahahaha!!!) and Wendy McCuckoo continue to crawl under the radar of justice..however, I got a surprise for them in 2010!!
Mother Nature continues to illustrate the folly of men & women...I am her humble servant.
I kept seeing birds I've never seen before!
Rush Limbaugh had a heart attack and Pastor Rick Warren asked for more money on the last day of the year...I resolve to pray these two fat asses die and go to Heaven..
conservatives were isolated and confined to Tea Parties and insane asylums...
neocons went crazy with fear after some skinny loser tried to blow up an airplane with his underwear! the guy is in custody...
the Santa Barbara elections were very entertaining and labor candidates beat the trust funders by a mile!
Carpinteria Valley Water District kept raising rates and going deeper in debt...let's hope for new leaders in 2010..
the Stooges and Twilight Zone marathons helped bring some sanity to the decade!
alcohol abuse was highlighted and exposed right here as the Larry, Moe and Curly show how stupid it is to drink!
and that's all I remember, officer

My Preview-Reviews: Here Are The Best New January TV Shows (Ken Tucker, EW)
"24 (premieres Jan. 17, Fox) Jack is in Manhattan. Guess what else is there? You are correct: a terrorist threat. So is Freddie Prinze, Jr. No, that’s not a threat — he’s actually good, at least in the first four hours I’ve seen. And Katie Sackhoff, in the sort of high heels Battlestar Galactica geeks have previously only dreamt of, makes a formidable foe for… Chloe! Under threat of torture, that’s all I’ll say."

Rush Limbaugh Taken to Hospital with Chest Pains
There are published reports that our beloved Rush Limbaugh was taken to a hospital with complaints of chest pains. Rush was vacationing in Hawaii at the time of this incident and not much is known at this time other than reports are that he’s listed in serious condition.
Let’s keep Rush in our prayers!

The 2000s: 20 to Remember (and More) - TV Guide Magazine
By Matt Roush December 30, 2009 09:00 AM EST
4. 24 I can’t imagine the last 10 years without Jack Bauer being around to save the day. A viscerally charged exercise in sustained thrills (though often at the expense of credibility), 24 kept the pulse racing with split-screen mastery of visual technique, unafraid to sacrifice beloved characters as a parade of international (and some homegrown) terrorists conspired each season to add to our sense of homeland insecurity.

cheeseburgers in paradise...
I know I've been going on and on about nature lately and some of you don't care about nature, content to sit in front of your computers all day while I try to save the planet..ok..I won't talk about nature anymore..
so I go on a nature hike at the Bluffs and what do I see..three fat girls walking their dogs...I go up the usual trail of ruts and dirt and spy them on the man made trail by the train tracks..you know that trail? the crushed yellowy rocks that get in your shoes..I don't know why they put these sidewalks in..I guess to allow people who don't normally hike or exercise an opportunity to check out Mom Nature without too much effort and strain...kinda defeats the whole Bluffs experience..anyway, I spy the fat girls and my oh my, they are porkers..I'm 500 yds away and I can hear them yacking and see them waddling behind the dogs, who were leashed..very good! One girl had black spandex pantjeans on and I could see her big fat ass as she ambled over the train tracks..she looked like a cow..a big fat cow from behind. Wow...then I see a fat guy walking behind me. He's carrying some camera gear on his shoulder...he's wearing baggy shorts down to his ankles, his legs are fat like sausages, and he thinks he's cool..Wow..what is going on? Are we starting to let people from Oklahoma into Carp now? Fat southern trailer park people...pork and grits...it's disgusting to see that when I'm trying to exercise rigorously on the trails..Oh wait, there goes a cute chick with a hat on..thank God!!maybe the hill folks are just here for the holidays..one can only hope

Welcome!
You found us!
Welcome to the Criminal Minds Round Table. When we were positing names for this blog, and Sir Bedivere suggested Criminal Minds Round Table, we knew immediately that was the perfect name for our blog.
It fit in so many ways.
Many fans, and Ed Bernero (CM’s Show Runner and Executive Producer) himself, compare the show and its characters to Arthurian legend and the Knights of the Round Table. Mr. Bernero even went so far as to say that he knew that the stories had to be “Arthurian” to appeal to the most people. The team meets to brief cases at a round table, and there are many parallels between our BAU team and the Knights and other Arthurian characters.
In addition, a Round Table discussion is what we want to have here about any and all topics CM-related. In a Round Table discussion, each participant has equal status and equal time to present views. And finally, since this is going to be a group effort amongst a group of CM fans, we are going to take turns around the table, with each of us posting about the show, our favorite characters and our favorite actors on the show.
So, please join Lady Guinevere, Sir Tristan, Sir Galahad, Sir Gawain, Sir Perceval, Sir Bedivere, Morgana, Merlin, and me, The Lady of the Lake (an extra-added benefit was that we got to choose cool names for our alter egos), in exploring our favorite show, actors, and the Arthurian legend.

Obama Census: Under the Radar the Way Barack Likes It.
In light of a bomb hidden in a terrorist’s underwear, an incompatant Homeland Security secretary yelling that “All is well!” , a signing of a bankrupting health care bill by the Democrat-controlled seanate, and a Tiger out of control in a sex-harem of his own making, there sits the 2010 U.S. Census with President Obama’s golf-caloused hands holding a pencil.
Before the Stimulus bill was made into law, before Cap and Trade was passed in the House, and before Obama’s poll numbers thankfully began to tumble, in February of 2009, the Census Bureau was moved from the umbrella of the United States Commerce Department to the White House to rest right under President Obama’s nose.
Republicans raised a fuss for awhile and complained about a government power grab, but all that faded into the whisks of time.
Just the way Obama wanted it to happen!
Well, it’s time to raise a fuss again.
Having seen what the Obama administration has done thus far with phony promises of transparency only to end up as lies behind closed doors, Obama cannot be trusted to act honorably.
I suspect the president has some more fancy tricks up his sleeve like certain Republicans districts vanishing into thin air with the help of his trusty eraser with Saul Alinsky’s picture on it.
And lookie here!
Where did all these new Democrat voters come from? Look to the south, my friends.

Jack Is Back: '24' Returns in January
Updated: Tuesday, 29 Dec 2009, 1:14 PM EST
Published : Tuesday, 29 Dec 2009, 1:13 PM EST
MyFox National Reports
(MYFOX NATIONAL) - It's going to be another long day for one of America's favorite crime fighters. Jack Bauer is back in season eight of FOX's series "24." Star Keifer Sutherland spoke about what is in store for the new season.
This time Sutherland's character Jack Bauer is forced to come out of retirement and make a huge sacrifice in his life.
"He's actually in a really light place, he's in a very positive hopeful space," explained Sutherland. "He's very grateful to be alive and reuniting with his daughter and he's a grandfather and has a family to go back to. He actually believes a life can start for himself."
Season eight of "24" also involves a move from the nation's capital to the Big Apple.
"New York isn't representative with anything regarding '24,'" said Sutherland. "You're not going to find a city that has more energy and the kind of energy '24' can react to. When things start going wrong in New York, people start to react a little less than Los Angeles or Washington and that's been an interesting factor in trying to get help in the middle of a bad situation. A lot of the stereotypes New York City has, we play on and that's been fun."
While some familiar faces remain, this year has some new characters and more unexpected challenges.
"Jack is going to have a bad day. There are certain characters you've come to know and love, like Chloe O'Brian or Cherry Jones, playing the president. And they introduce great new characters, like Michael T. Williamson as the head of CTU, and Freddie Prince Jr., who plays my partner. It's a great new balance."
The 43-year-old actor has never shied away from doing most of his own stunts, but the years have taken their toll.
"You can't fake hanging off a garbage truck at 45 miles an hour. You're going to react the way you should. You jump off a side of a building in a moving truck, you're going to react the way you should. All those things I can still barely do, but I love doing them and it adds an authenticity for me."
The two-night, four-hour season premiere airs Jan. 17 on FOX. More on the official "24" Web site.

The Big Tease: Scoop on ‘Housewives’ and Much More! ('24' Premiere Mention)
Dec 29th, 2009 | 8:35 AM
Any early thoughts on the new season of ‘24‘? – David
As I raved on Facebook, there’s nary a clinker in the first four hours as Season 8 gets off to a solid start. That said, Mykelti Williamson’s Brian Hastings has got to be one of the most dense CTU directors in ‘24′ history; I want to punch the guy. Also, I had to suppress a snort over Jack’s 10-minute drive from Manhattan to Queens. But CTU analyst Dana Walsh (played by ‘Battlestar Galactica’ alum Katee Sackhoff) is poised to have one of the “better” B-stories in a while, revolving around a creeptastic ex-beau.

Kiefer Talks About 24 Movie Rumours
Kiefer Sutherland is confident his hit TV series 24 will eventually be made into a movie.
The actor, who's set to return to UK television screens this January playing Jack Bauer, insists the cast and writers remain determined to do a shorter film version of the show.
"We've been perpetuating the rumour for years!" Kiefer joked, speaking in a break from filming in Hollywood.
But he added, if and when a movie version gets confirmed, London and Europe could be the logical setting.
"We've wanted to film all around Europe. I think one of the great things about Europe, especially if you're going to do something where a two-hour film represents 24 hours, then it's very feasible to get from Eastern Europe to London in seven hours.
"It doesn't eat up all the time. Whereas if you're doing 24 episodes and you're trying to get, even from Miami to Washington, that's four episodes on a plane and people stop watching!" Kiefer laughed.
The actor explained: "Europe has been something that we've all talked about as an opportunity for the film, which unfortunately just has not presented itself for us in the show."
:: 24 Season Eight begins Sunday 24 January at 9pm on Sky1 HD and Sky1.

HAIL TO THE RETURNING CHIEF - CHERRY JONES ON '24' - SEASON EIGHT
Exclusive Interview:
The award-winning actress talks about playing the President once again and giving orders to Kiefer Sutherland's Jack Bauer
By ABBIE BERNSTEIN, Contributing WriterPublished 12/29/2009
Cherry Jones is known to Broadway lovers as the winner of two leading actress Tony Awards, in 1995 for THE HEIRESS and in 2005 for DOUBT. Filmgoers have seen her in features including SIGNS and THE PERFECT STORM.
But television viewers likely know her best for her Emmy Award-winning portrayal of beleaguered but determined U.S. President Allison Taylor on this past season of Fox's 24, the role Jones originated in the 2008 telefilm 24: REDEMPTION. President Taylor survived the bedlam of 24’s seventh season to return for its forthcoming eighth debuting on Fox this January 17th.
Naturally, Jones is sworn to secrecy about most of what she’s doing this season, but here’s what she can tell us about what’s happened so far and how involved she is with the show this year.
Naturally, Jones is sworn to secrecy about most of what she’s doing this season, but here’s what she can tell us about what’s happened so far and how involved she is with the show this year.
iF: When you started 24, you were saying that you wanted to look really tired, because you could see that President Barack Obama was so tired in his first month in office, his face was shaking.
CHERRY JONES: [laughs] That’s right.
iF: Did you feel after awhile like, "Okay, enough with looking tired?" Because your President Taylor did wind up looking fairly put together despite the day she was having.
JONES: She did get a brief period where she got to change clothes, have a shower and proceed, but I think if you notice at the very end of the series, I may look put together and clean, but I’m pretty tired-looking. She starts [the day/season] having lost a child, having survived a U.S. presidential campaign, and she’s about to launch an intervention in another country. So I wanted her to look pretty shitty from the get-go [laughs].
iF: Did you know at the outset that Tony Todd’s General Juma was going to show up in the White House?
JONES: Certainly not.
iF: What were some other big surprises between the TV movie and your first full season on 24?
JONES: That I had a grown daughter [laughs]. I had no idea until about the third episode that I had a grown daughter. And I remember this one – Mr. [Howard] Gordon came up to me in the grand corridor of the White House one day and said, "Your character is I think a very noble person, but she is a human being and a world leader and therefore also probably flawed [laughs]," and my Achilles heel apparently was my family. But honestly, when I started, I didn’t know if she was going to end up being another Greg Itzin, another President Logan, or more in the David Palmer mode. I had no idea. And I was delighted to see the strength that they gave her. Every single episode, it was such integrity.
F: Were you rooting for her to go one way or the other?
JONES: Well, I became invested in her being an honorable human being. And I have to say, if she had turned out to be a bad guy, I would have been really disappointed, because I bought into her integrity.
iF: Well, having had an evil female vice-president on PRISON BREAK, maybe Fox felt, "You know, we can’t have another …"
JONES: Bad woman [laughs]?
iF: "We can’t keep doing this with the idea of a woman as president." After all, there’s a theory that believes David Palmer helped pave the way in people’s minds for Barack Obama.
JONES: Culturally, it certainly didn’t hurt. I don’t know if they literally paved the way, but it certainly did no damage in that department.
iF: Do you feel at all like you’re maybe making people a little more comfortable with the idea of Madame President?
JONES: Well, I do think television operates as an educational tool and opens our minds – the best of television opens our minds. In that instance, presenting a strong woman leader certainly opens a few minds, I hope.
iF: You play President Taylor with such intensity …
JONES: Well, the situations that these guys give me are so insane and they’re so intense that I always try to put myself in the position of this woman in these impossible situations and it’s always very easy to give them a little loft. It’s there. The situations are so outrageous [laughs].
iF: Obviously, you are sworn to secrecy about what’s happening now, but did you have a particular favorite scene from your first season on the show?
JONES: I loved being in the safe room with Kiefer [Sutherland as Jack Bauer] – that was fun. As a new fan of 24, because I had not watched the show before I was on it and I was catching up with all the seasons and I found myself completely star-struck with everyone I was having to go and work with, being in that safe room with Kiefer, that was a greatly enjoyable scene. He’s the big cheese of 24, but in the final analysis, he works for me [laughs]. [Those scenes] were fun. When I got to say to Jack Bauer, "Open that door," he had to open it.
iF: What did you do during the hiatus between 24 seasons?
JONES: I actually had a fun day a few months ago – I have a little part in the film AMELIA with Hilary Swank and Richard Gere that Mira Nair directed. I play Eleanor Roosevelt. I shot on 24 all day one day and I got on a plane, flew to Toronto and by nine the next morning was playing Eleanor Roosevelt. So in a twenty-four hour period, I got to play the President and the First Lady, which may never have happened before.
iF: That may be some sort of Guinness World Record.
JONES: Yeah, I think so. I was excited about that. There’s just one other little film that’s coming up and probably it’s going to be a great film. It’s starring Annette Bening and Naomi Watts and Kerry Washington and David Morse and Jimmy Smits and S. Epatha Merkelson, and it’s directed and written by Rodrigo Garcia, a wonderful writer and director. It’s called MOTHER AND CHILD. It’s a beautiful, beautiful script..I got to work with Annette and Kerry Washington, and they were just superb. So I think that will be an exciting film.
iF: When in the process was it decided that your President Taylor would be coming back for another season of 24?
JONES: Initially, we just thought I was going to be back maybe for a couple of episodes and then it seemed like maybe there would be a few more and then suddenly, it was at least the first half. I don’t know beyond that whether they’re going to need me or not, but I’m personally so thrilled to be back, because I love this crew and the people I work with when I get to go to Chatsworth and do this show. I don’t get to go as much as I would like to, because I wish I were there every day. I love to act and I love to be with these people. But just to come back for a few days every month is heaven for me.

Eureka!
I found one!! a good non-profit! Now, don't get me wrong..if I'm hungry I'll kill to eat..kill, gut, skin and fry like a hawk does..but I won't kill just to kill to kill to kill to kill like the Nature Conspiracy coqui suckers do....
The Good Shepherd Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c) 3 organization, founded in 1949 in California by a wonderful, compassionate woman named Rosalie Gordon. Responding to the cruelty of animal research, also called vivisection, Rosalie waged continuous compaigns to save animals from suffering in the name of science. She labored to stop the sale of homeless animals for use in research, and she started a no-kill humane shelter for abused and unwanted dogs and cats. Rosalie also was a great promoter of spay and neuter programs, and the Good Shepherd sponsored local spay and neuter efforts in California by helping pet owners pay for these services. The Good Shepherd Foundation also worked to protect wild horses and other wildlife in our National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries and helped pass the first legislation in the U.S. banning the use of steel-jaw leghold traps. In addition, the Foundation started Childrens Gardens, a pre-school for children with a focus on animals and nature.

Saving the Frogs
Recently, the Foundation has been working on the problems relating to so-called "invasive species" and the hazards to the environment, humans, and non-target animals and plants associated with attempts to eradicate and control these populations. Since 2001, we have been trying to end efforts to eradicate Hawaiian coqui tree frogs, which have been under attack by Federal, State and County agencies. Our position has been the acceptance of the frogs, and we have helped balance the anti-coqui hysteria with sound reason and science. To address this issue, the Foundation launched a new program called, C.H.I.R.P., (Coqui Hawaiian Integration and Reeducation Project), and ISCD Press has published a book on the subject, entitled, Panic in Paradise: Invasive Species Hysteria and the Hawaiian Coqui Frog War. We also created a website, www.HawaiianCoqui.org , which has helped educate the public about the reasons why the coqui should be accepted as part of the Hawaiian environment. C.H.I.R.P. has been featured in numerous publications and on several television specials, and has helped mobilize Puerto Rico in its efforts to end the war against their beloved coqui. hey..I wonder if the Channel Islands have enough froggies??
now, send some cash to help non-native species fight the native-only cultists!!!

10 Best Jack Bauer Quotes (Pronewsblog.com)
Inspired by the newest season coming out, here is a list of the greatest Jack Bauer quotes from 24:
10. Jack Bauer: “Officer, this guy is not waiting around for me… so you better shoot me or help me but decide now!”
9. Nina Myers: “You’re lying”
Jack Bauer: “Yes I am. But you’re still going to have to trust me.”
8. Jack Bauer: “You’re a good liar, but I’ve seen better.”
7. Jack Bauer: “You probably don’t think I could force this towel down your throat, but trust me I can. All the way. Except that I’d hold onto this little bit at the end. When your stomach starts to digest the towel, I pull it out. Taking your stomach lining with it. Most people probably take about a week to die. It’s very painful.”
6. Jack Bauer: “Say it again! Or I’ll break your other wrist!”
5. Kevin Carroll: “If you kill me, how are you going to find your family”
Jack Bauer: “Who said anything about killing?”
4. Jack Bauer: “I used to be in the military. Used to do field work for the CIA. I’ve been to some horrible places. I’ve seen some pretty terrible things. I don’t think I’ve ever been this scared in my whole life.”
3. George Mason: “You have no idea what you’re getting yourself into”
Jack Bauer: “Why don’t you explain it to me? You’ve got five seconds.”
2. Diana White: “I’m not going anywhere without a lawyer”
Jack Bauer: “You’re not under arrest. I’m taking you in to MI-6 where you’ll be interrogated by an agent of a foreign government. Your constitutional rights no longer apply. Let’s go.”
1. Michael Amador: “You betrayed me, Jack”
Jack: “That’s right Amador. You betrayed me too, I’m just better at it than you.”

bananas..bananas are all I have...bananas
well, since the BBB won't punish the News-Press, since the law won't punish the News-Press, that leaves me...my anti-News-Press campaign is working! Travis and Dr. Laura are gone, people are leaving Nippers.com and News-Press readership is down..conservative radio monopolies like Citadel and NextMedia are going bankrupt...people are finally waking to the con artists behind these endeavors. Now, we all know Wendy's claim to fame is divorcing a rich guy and the con is she calls herself a business woman! A publisher even! Well, what kind of a paper doesn't print an editorial section? A bad one, that's what kind. Monday's News-Press had no editorial section, no letters, no nothing! just two full page cryptic ads about NEWSPAPER ADVERTISING!! and after soliciting letters for months about the new city council, they got seven letters on Sunday from the usual anti-city hall suspects!!
so you see, this is what happens when you don't use your melon..it gets fuzzy and moldy like this banana...it rots like the News-Press is rotting...there is nothing to do but get a new banana and make sure the same thing doesn't happen...you do that by consuming it before it rots and making it a part of your nourishment..the News-Press, however, is only poison..poison poison poison..when you ingest poison, the passion goes, the love goes, the life goes..all you got left is a moldy rotten banana, that is dying & crying to be heard..

Eight Things Jack Bauer Should Know for 24's Eighth Season
- Dec 27, 2009 12:38 PM ET
- by Natalie Abrams
As you prepare to embark on your eighth action-packed day, TVGuide.com thought it wise — after looking into your future (i.e. the first four episodes of 24's Season 8) — to pass on a little advice.
1. Remember to cherish your friends: Chloe O'Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub) has put her job — and sometimes her life — on the line for you. Though you'd love to hightail it back to Los Angeles, there are more pressing matters in New York.
2. Remember that New York is a world capital: with world issues. These 24 hours will be unlike anything you've seen before. The threat is on a much bigger level, involving a nuclear superpower in one of the most volatile places in the world.
3. Remember that you're an oldie: Sorry, Jack, but this is a new CTU and not everyone knows you like we do. You may not be able to get away with the same tomfoolery you used to. Tread lightly.
4. Remember that no one can be trusted: Keep that in mind while interacting with the new kids. Brian Hastings (Mykelti Williamson), the head honcho at the New York CTU base, may not be on your side. And he's not always the brightest crayon in the box, so watch your back.
5. Remember that not everyone is a bad guy: Just because someone gets busted doesn't mean he — or she — is guilty. So even when you think you've finished your mission, keep your head in the game.
6. Remember that being good on the job doesn't make you good at everyday life: While Dana Walsh (Katee Sackhoff) may know more than Chloe the ins and outs of CTU's New York office, she isn't as perfect as she seems. We do like her soon-to-be hubby, Cole Ortiz (Freddie Prinze, Jr.) — and we think you will, too.
7. Remember that Renee Walker (Annie Wersching) went through a terrible ordeal last time around: We know you're worried about her and you're trying to help her, but seriously, keep a closer eye on Renee. By hour four, you'll regret agreeing to let her back in the field.
8. Remember that there's more than meets the eye: You've dealt with spies, traitors and moles, so this day should be a piece of cake for you...or not. Be especially mindful of this when it comes to President Omar Hassan (Anil Kapoor).
Here's hoping we see you back in Los Angeles soon,
TVGuide.com
P.S. Thanks for making it so easy for new kids to follow your journey. The reintroduction of the CTU has helped!

goddam Mexicans...
Fan Palms..that is...
so I read story about the Libbey creek restoration project in Ojai...some biologists are going to spend tax money to remove "nonnative, invasive" species..(where have I heard that before?)..among the demon species they list as bad are Mexican Fan Palms. The story was in OVN and the head biologist is Brian Holly..let me break it to you Bri...the restoration is a scam but somehow you managed to convince the city council, Fish and Game, and private property owners in Ojai that it will benefit the creek habitat. Ok, so I got no problem with you planting sycamores and other non-bastard trees, but I do have a problem with you ripping out Mexican Fan Palms and deporting them..why? I'll tell you why: THEY ARE HOME TO HOODED ORIOLES EVERY SPRING!! GODDAMMIT..LEAVE 'EM ALONE!!!!!!!!! GOT IT BRI...LEAVE THEM THE FUCK ALONE!!!!!
They know, they just know where to grow, how to dupe you, and how to camouflage themselves among the perfectly respectable plants, they just know, and therefore, I've concluded weeds must have brains. ~Dianne Benson, Dirt, 1994
Next, the Mexican fan palms are not nonnative as you claim..Ojai was a Spanish/Mexican land grant so the only non-natives in this story are the boobs "restoring" Libbey Creek!! Now, a preventive maintenance program will keep arundo and other fast growing plants under control, but you guys are intent on poisoning the watershed instead of doing some once-a-year manual labor..lazy bums!!
This next year I will step up efforts to stop you fools from destroying habitats to save them..I will sing the glories of non native species and lobby elected officials, bribe them with gifts and cakes..anything..to get them to open their eyes to these wasteful restoration projects by over-educated dog-walking gardeners...nature knows best what belongs where, not them...
But make no mistake: the weeds will win; nature bats last. ~Robert M. Pyle

2009 Review: American Ignorance on Display
Lets review what we already know.
The bulk of Obama supporters are not stupid people, but rather ignorant folks that don't follow the matters of state. Democrats take advantage of this American ignorance because it fits right into their plans.

You think education is expensive, try ignorance.

Liberals Final Solution: Make America Ignorant
A friend once told me, “You watch too much Fox News!”
I thought it was a very sad comment to make because what it represented.
“I watch Fox because they honestly report what’s going on in the world, AND they’re the only news organization with journalistic integrity, unlike the others in the mainstream media who have sold out theirs.”
But, my friend just shrugged his shoulders and give me a very strong impression that he thought that I was the foolish one.
My friend isn’t stupid.
In fact, he’s a very nice man that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. However, when it comes to a world view, he’s totally accepted the manipulative templates that Liberals put out to control public thought.
• Rich people are evil and greedy
• Abortion is not killing the unborn, but rather Women’s Reproductive Rights
• If you’re against Gay Marriage, you’re a Homophobe or believe that homosexuals should be second-class citizens
• Oil is dirty energy
• Carbon Dioxide is a pollutant
• Republicans are racists
• If you’re critical of President Obama, it’s because he’s Black
There are dozens if not maybe hundreds of these simple templates that Liberal/Democrats put out through their willing sycophants in the media and more importantly through the public school system.
These templates are intended for the consumption of people who do not think deeply about the affairs of state because they’re too busy living out their day to day lives. The Democrats know this and this is intentionally done to keep people in a mindcontrol that benefits the Liberal agenda.
Do you ever hear Liberals complain about lower graduation rates?
Of course not!
But, you do hear them whine that teachers need to make more money without any merit standards attached. And you also hear them gripe about Charter schools despite the fact that they outperform public schools time after time.
Why are they against Charter schools?
Democrats say that public money should not be diverted to Charter schools in detriment to the public schools system without fixing the problems that ails public education.
Liar, liar, pants on fire!
The truth is that Teachers Unions contribute heavy into the coffers of the Democrat Party and as such they want to keep the status quo of inferior education.
However, more insidiously than that, Democrats don’t want better education for America’s school kids because that would threaten their necessity to keep the people just ignorant enough to swallow their false templates and maintain power over government and the people’s minds.
Thank God that home-schooling, private, and parochial education still provide America’s children with a needed alternative to the Liberals final solution to keep the people in the dark.
Nonetheless, the light still has to shine for those that are still in darkness. America's future is at stake and the better educated we are, the better to see the wolf.

Trans....
down on the corner; out in the street..
how I spent my Christmas Day: with all the talk about Christianity, transgender issues and sex these days, I thought I'd try a little experiment this Christmas season...emulate a Catholic priest..so I went down to the local laundrymat , stole some ladies underwear, took 'em home and put 'em on...they smelled so fresh and clean! Then I stapled two overcoats together and painted them bright colors; then I made a hat out of cardboard, then I picked up a bible and was off to the races! whoops, I forgot shoes..hmmm, high heels is what I need..so I went over to mom's house and picked them up...so now I'm dressed up like a pastor and ready for anything..."HEAR MY WORDS FOR THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE" I started shouting at the street corner as cars whizzed by..some slowed to look and I would open my coat and flash 'em the goods! I continued preaching at the street corner for an hour and was arrested and thrown in jail! which is where all pastors belong!

to CALTRANS from St. Mick..stop cutting down the Monterey Pines!!!
contented and happy, as young trees should.
His body was straight and his boughs were clean; And summer and winter the bountiful sheen
Of his needles bedecked him, from top to root,
In a beautiful, all-the-year, evergreen suit.
But a trouble came into his heart one day,
When he saw that the other trees were gay
In the wonderful raiment that summer weaves
Of manifold shapes and kinds of leaves: He looked at his needles so stiff and small,
Then jealousy clouded the little tree's mind,
And he said to himself, "It was not very kind "To give such an ugly old dress to a tree! "If the fays of the forest would only ask me, "I'd tell them how I should like to be dressed,"In a garment of gold, to bedazzle the rest!"
So he fell asleep, but his dreams were bad.
When he woke in the morning, his heart was glad;
For every leaf that his boughs could hold
Was made of the brightest beaten gold.
I tell you, children, the tree was proud; He was something above the common crowd;
And he tinkled his leaves, as if he would say
To a peddler who happened to pass that way, "Just look at me! don't you think I am fine? "
And wouldn't you like such a dress as mine?" "Oh, yes!" said the man, "and I really guess I must fill my pack with your beautiful dress."
So he picked the golden leaves with care,
And left the little tree shivering there.
"Oh, why did I wish for golden leaves?"
The fir-tree said, "I forgot that thieves "Would be sure to rob me in passing by.
"If the fairies would give me another try, "I'd wish for something that cost much less,
"And be satisfied with glass for my dress!"
Then he fell asleep; and, just as before, The fairies granted his wish once more.
When the night was gone, and the sun rose clear, The tree was a crystal chandelier; And it seemed, as he stood in the morning light, That his branches were covered with jewels bright. "Aha!" said the tree. "This is something great!"
And he held himself up, very proud and straight; But a rude young wind through the forest dashed, In a reckless temper, and quickly smashed The delicate leaves.
With a clashing sound They broke into pieces and fell on the ground,
Like a silvery, shimmering shower of hail, And the tree stood naked and bare to the gale.
Then his heart was sad; and he cried, "Alas "For my beautiful leaves of shining glass! "Perhaps I have made another mistake "In choosing a dress so easy to break. "If the fairies only would hear me again "I'd ask them for something both pretty and plain: "It wouldn't cost much to grant my request,"In leaves of green lettuce I'd like to be dressed!" By this time the fairies were laughing, I know; But they gave him his wish in a second;
and so With leaves of green lettuce, all tender and sweet, The tree was arrayed, from his head to his feet. "I knew it!" he cried, "I was sure I could find "The sort of a suit that would be to my mind. "There's none of the trees has a prettier dress, "And none as attractive as I am, I guess." But a goat, who was taking an afternoon walk, By chance overheard the fir-tree's talk.
So he came up close for a nearer view;"My salad!" he bleated, "I think so too! "You're the most attractive kind of a tree, "And I want your leaves for my five-o'clock tea." So he ate them all without saying grace,
And walked away with a grin on his face;
While the little tree stood in the twilight dim, With never a leaf on a single limb.
Then he sighed and groaned; but his voice was weak
He was so ashamed that he could not speak. He knew at last that he had been a fool,
To think of breaking the forest rule, And choosing a dress himself to please,
Because he envied the other trees.
But it couldn't be helped, it was now too late, He must make up his mind to a leafless fate! So he let himself sink in a slumber deep, But he moaned and he tossed in his troubled sleep, Till the morning touched him with joyful beam, And he woke to find it was all a dream. For there in his evergreen dress he stood, A pointed fir in the midst of the wood! His branches were sweet with the balsam smell, His needles were green when the white snow fell.
And always contented and happy was he,The very best kind of a Christmas tree.
