E! reports that the Slumdog star has signed on as a full-time cast member for the eighth season of the popular US TV show, alongside Kiefer Sutherland and co.
The Indian actor, who played the game show host in Danny Boyle's film, is said to be taking on the role of a Middle Eastern leader who comes to the US on a peace-keeping mission.
It will be Kapoor's first American TV role, although he has taken on numerous Bollywood roles during his near 30-year career.
Slumdog Millionaire won eight Oscars this year, including Best Picture.
