go tell it on the mountain...

let my people go...
John Birch Society joins Tea Party movement...
the teabaggers keep trying to tell me they are just normal folk who want to take back the country and restore America to minimal gov't and low taxes..and you know, if that were true, I'd have a cup with them....but the problem is, it ain't true. They have misinterpreted, misread, misconstrued and dumbed down the Constitution like bible-belters have dumbed down the bible!. So there was a gathering of Teabaggers in conservative Thousand Oaks..about 60 folks showed up in the rain to protest Obama's attempts to enslave white people...he's trying to get back at us apparently and these folks won't have any of it...well, I was talking to a lady bug yesterday and she said the Teabaggers are way whacked and stuck in a time warp..the 1950s, McCarthyism, and the John Birch Society....they got commies on their minds in 2010!! then she said America is a gov't of, by and for the people...how can you not trust a lady bug???
and yes'm, a member of the John Birch Society, Dan McBride, was speaking at the Thousand Oaks gathering...he's just another angry white male!!
birchers
The John Birch Society is a far right group founded in California in 1958: It represents itself as "a membership-based organization dedicated to restoring and preserving freedom under the United States Constitution." It states that its members come from all walks of life and are active throughout the 50 states as part of local chapters. The Society invites all Americans to explore its website, learn more about the John Birch Society, and consider joining with in its mission to achieve "Less Government, More Responsibility, and - With God's Help - a Better World..Its other objectives have included the abolition of the graduated income tax, the repeal of social security legislation, the impeachment of various high government officials, the end to busing for the purpose of school integration, the end to U.S. membership in the United Nations, and the nullification of the treaty that turned over the Panama Canal to Panama. In his book, The Politician, Welch charged to the effect that Dwight D. Eisenhower and John Foster Dulles had actively aided the so-called Communist conspiracy. The society has also contended that an elite international cabal—the U.S. branch of which supposedly includes the Council on Foreign Relations, for many years led by David Rockefeller—is seeking to establish a world tyranny.
McCarthy you'll remember, was a Republican senator from Wisconsin who held hearings to determine where the commies in America were hiding...he went after Hollywood and unions like the neocons are doing today...The term McCarthyism is also now used more generally to describe reckless, unsubstantiated accusations, as well as demagogic attacks on the character or patriotism of political adversaries.
now, all this sounds like the Tea Party today..the last refuge of a scoundrel is false patriotism..and these folks are scoundrels.. just ask any lady bug....
