George Bush cut the lowest rung of tax rates from 15 to 10 percent. That’s a hefty 33% tax cut that put more money in the pockets of thosethat need it the most.
But the Democrats are playing word games not to extend the present Bush tax rates that expire on Dec 31.
If that happens, that 10% goes back to 15% which is a massive 50% increase in taxes for the constituency Democrats pride themselves on championing.
Compare that with the Rich tax increase that would go from 35% to 39.6% which is only a 13% increase.
13%, 50%?
