Bronx Students Forced to Clean Toilets as Punishment. So what’s the problem?
From WPIX:
City education officials are investigating allegations that students at a Bronx middle school were disciplined by being forced to clean toilets.
The claims were made by students at In-Tech Academy in the South Bronx. Students say instead of receiving detention, some were subjected to janitorial duties -- including cleaning up feces in the bathroom."I don't believe in that," one student told PIX 11 News. "This isn't a jail. We're students not prisoners."Many students learned of the shocking allegations Monday morning when they arrived at school."I
t's ridiculous. I never heard of that before." said 17-year-old Rubie Evans. "But if that's the super...I would expect that out of him. He's rude...he doesn't know how to talk to students."For its part, the Department of Education issued a statement to PIX 11 News reading,
'We are investigating the allegations and if they are substantiated we will take appropriate action.""Custodians get paid to clean the bathrooms," said Evans. "Not the students."
Well, as far as I am concerned, I would like to shake the hand of the school admin that made those kids clean the bathroom. Punishment is not supposed to be a pleasant experience.
That’s why it’s called pusnishment!
Hello!
We have become so much like a pussy society to the extent of trying to make discipline hugs and kisses instead of a kick in the ass.
