well, I was reading SBNPB.com yesterday, when all my troubles seemed so far away, but now it looks as though they're here to stay...why? all because of a little flower..actually a woman. Her name is Dr. Lotus Vermeer and when I wrote the post yesterday about Anacapa Island, I figured she was a guy until I did some photo searching. Turns out I was wrong..wrong, wrong wrong... she's not a guy, but rather a superfine woman who is a Yankees fan!! She heads the Nature Conservancy's preserve on Santa Cruz Island...how can this be? Doesn't she know I'm a Red Sox fan and the Nature Conspiracy is actually anti-nature? How did this beautiful, brilliant woman get conned? and how can she work for a non-profit that takes millions from the BP oil environmental criminals??!! The only explanation I can fathom is she's been brainwashed by the native-only cult..well, I want to help her!!

Mark Tercek, The Nature Conservancy's president and CEO (who makes $406,000/yr!!), defended the environmental group’s past relationship with oil company BP in an online chat today with the public that included many angry Conservancy members.
The chat followed negative publicity stemming from news reports that the Conservancy had received nearly $10 million in cash and land donations from BP and affiliated corporations going back several years.
The reports had led to surprise and consternation among many of the Conservancy’s membership that their venerable environmental organization could be tied to the worst oil spill in US history.
Some members said they will renounce their membership because of the Conservancy’s ties to BP, while others demanded that the Conservancy sever ties with BP. In a written response during the chat, Tercek said he would not commit to such an action at this time.
