to the people of Santa Barbara: stay in your cars!! stop living your lives!! stay in your cars!! stop living your lives!! or something might happen to you and a seagull might cry!
that's the message I got when I read the News-Press editorial section..first with Lanny's troubles brewing on this very blog, I don't think he'll be offering any more sage advice for the public, second, we're stuck with butt-ugly Terry Tyler and his nutty brain to dispense wisdom. Here's the latest brilliant idea one of his readers sent him and he expounds on it: force gas stations to be completely full service. Apparently Tyler thinks this will create more jobs for gas stations and people who make their uniforms, will save gas mileage because a "trained" filler-upper will also check your tire pressure, and he says you'll have lower car repair costs because the trained filler upper will give you "proper oil level maintenance", too! Not with my truck, you don't!!
I had to read this a few times before it sunk in about who in the world is this guy talking to...probably himself being so helpless that he can't put gas in his own car or take it in for an oil change every 3000-5000 miles...he's an accountant and he can't add mileage?? and there's no reason to have some service station guy check your oil if you follow the car's maintenance schedule..it's an old scam gas stations used used to move oil and Granitelli-type additives! and he wants you to pay more at the gas pump to support this nonsensical idea!!
then we got a lady who says Tyler is right on about his warnings on the new location of the West Beach Music Festival to East Beach...all sorts of doomsday forecasts for this event while ignoring Fiesta, 4th of July, etc...the woman is afraid that if Floatopia happens in SB, all the animals within a 5 mile radius will be imperiled..then she says: did anyone check with the zookeepers about the cost this festival stress will place on the animals"..uh, honeychild, do you think being cooped up in a zoo while people gawk at them all day causes wild animals any stress??
and then I hear that Sheriff Brown is getting advice from Dr. Lanny....better stay tuned Sheriff!
