Ever since the Santa Barbara News-Press was bought by Wendy McCaw, the credibility of the paper has suffered..her investment of $150 million has shrunk faster than her subscriber base..so what's the problem? You need only look to the editorial page editor Travis Armstrong..he makes up stories about his enemies and tries to pass them off as fact. The most recent attempt was pretty lame..he states that the Republicans in 2008 lost a good chance to replace 3rd District county Supervisor Brooks Firestone with Mike Stoker because the Goleta Chamber of Commerce undermined Stoker's possible campaign efforts. The head of the Goleta Chamber is Kristen Amyx, a member of the News-PRess cabal.The fact is Stoker had no intention of running for county supervisor. Armstrong apparently forgot the inteview he did with Stoker on his own NewsPRess AM 1290 radio show, which I highlighted right here on SBNPB! ....stokers
Stoker clearly says he didn't want to run because he didn't have the "compassion". Of course he meant "passion", but this ain't no English class so I let it slide...This is the status quo at the News-Press and is fully supported by Nipper and Wendy McCuckoo...and a shameful chapter in newspaper journalism....look for more lies and poison from Travis and Nipper and Wendy between now and election time..

When Dr. Laura attended a war rally disguised as a charity event at the weird Harley Davidson shop in Carp a few years ago, I posted signs on telephone poles that said: DR. LAURA DON'T POISON CARP!! Someone from Harley went and tore them down a few hours later...why does the truth hurt these ultra-rightwingthngs?
