first, in a totally unrelated issue, let me say how disgusted I am with KTYD.. I was listening last week and they censored Pink Floyd's "Money"...Money, it's a hit. Dont give me that do goody good bull----! how wimpy...

remember Charlie Manson? he told some hippies to go kill some rich folks because they pissed him off..well, don't piss me off cos I know some hippies who know some hippies..
ok..I've been interested in the SB City Counicl election due to the oddness of it...the candidates are odd, the atmosphere is odd...odd is the new odd.. now, I got no problem with giving money to campaigns.. or unions giving my dues money to pro-labor candidates as long as it's legal ...this is America after all and it takes money to do the radio, TV and PR brochures....I seriously doubt that all those ads hold any sway in the elections..I think the idea is to blitz the voters so the ads start to work on the subconscious thus assuring you'll vote for the guy who tries hardest to brainwash or scare you!

As more and more money goes into political campaigns, advertisements are getting slicker. "They're like short movies," Valentino tells WebMD. "The combination of visuals and audio can trigger very specific emotions - positive or negative emotions - and we think these have important consequences for political cognition and behavior."Ted Brader, PhD, a University of Michigan political scientist, explores this concept in his book, Campaigning for Hearts and Minds: How Emotional Appeals in Political Ads Work. Brader showed participants a series of political ads he designed. He found he could trigger specific emotions by changing music and imagery, while leaving the script and narration the same.Grainy images of guns, ambulances, and other disturbing scenes combined with tense music evoked fear. "Feel-good imagery," Brader says, "like in a Wonder Bread commercial," made people feel happy, hopeful, and enthusiastic.
John Thyne had a YouTube video and if you watch and listen to it a few times, you'll find he slurs his words!! No wonder, this is the guy with all the alcohol problems so I don't think slick TV commercials will change much even if your brother is an actor..you guys need to stop drinking BEFORE you get caught or it ruins your lives!

(CTX) got compensation that the homebuilder valued at $4.2 million in its latest fiscal year, less than half what he received the year before, as the company lost $2.66 billion. Chairman and CEO Timothy R. Eller was paid a salary of $920,000 and an incentive-plan payment of $216,459. Eller also got stock grants and options valued at $1.5M, and other compensation of $1.6M, almost all of it a cash bonus related to the exercise of options granted in 1998… In the previous fiscal year, he got compensation that the company valued then at nearly $8.8M." Private contractors who work for the city undergo an orientation session so they don't cut corners...private industry is notorious for this....Greka being a shining example...
