the News-Press celebrates area nonprofits! and big divorce settlements! and trust funds!
the News-Press had a section in last Sunday's paper celebrating nonprofits...however, I don't join them in their celebration.. These folks rake in the cash, line their pockets, overpay CEOs, and they are always begging for more...
as nonprofits start to realize that taxpayers are getting hip to their little scams, donations have been falling off..of course, they blame the economy but they only have themselves to blame..the point that people are starting to get is there are too many nonprofits in town. Some are good and legit, but far too many are corrupt and shadowy.... overpaying the administrative staff with public donations. The most blatant examples have been in the local news for months..some media like the News-Press choose to ignore the waste because they are in bed with nonprofiteers..the worst offenders are the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, (free ads) the Museum of Natural History (liquor parties) and of course, the Santa Barbara County Taxpayers Association, who has been brown nosing the News-Press since Wendy bought it..
the Garden and the Museum pay their admins over $100,000 per year..but no one knows exactly what these high rollers do..the SBCTA is a shadowy group of rightwingers whose battle cry is: anti union anti govt (except police to protect them) and anti labor..some members have included the Chumash, Joe Centeno, Mike Stoker and who knows where the money comes from! Plus, these outfits don't pay taxes!! That is the scam! The laws need to be changed to allow for these parasitic groups to pay taxes..they have amassed billions!! The bad nonprofits have really done a disservice to the good ones..the good ones better start speaking out against the offenders or no one will give anymore..I select my charities very carefully since the United Way CEO was caught embezzling funds and fixing up his mansions years ago..there's a sucker born every minute, I guess.

So the News-Press had a little advertising insert entitled "Celebrating Nonprofits"...there's a panic spreading among these groups that the easy money won't be so easy to obtain anymore...well... you can thank the con artists like the NewsPress who turned the other cheek while local nonprofits were raking in the cash but not performing the good deeds they are supposed to perform!! the Santa Barbara Foundation appeared on my radar screen..beep beep beep.. because they "applaud the News-Press for celebrating the nonprofit sector"..

do you wanna know how many assets the SB Foundation has? $248,361,295
do you wanna know how much they gave in grants in 2009? $500,000!
that's a miniscule amount compared to the assets they have!!!!
all this cash is just being recirculated through local non-profits enabled by golddiggers like Nipper and Wendy... and the City of SB needs to stop handing over cash to nonprofits ...pay your workers, not the nonprofit CEOs!!
Even a foundation in South Carolina has a better giving to assets ratio $14,300,81 to $279,880,094....
It is past time to investigate every nonprofit (some are fronts for political groups) in town and root out the bad ones....and put these nonprofiteers out of business!!
