after reading Cherie Rae's "exclusive" puffy interview with Randall Van Wolfswinkel, I was left with more questions than answers...
let me see if I got this straight: a guy who lives in Texas decides he wants Santa Barbara to be the way it was, picks some candidates he likes and meets with them individually to see if they share his hopes and dreams, gives lots of money to them and their causes, claims he doesn't want anything in return, has no business interests in Santa Barbara, doesn't like highrises but gave money to support the highrise Granada Theatre....a walking contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction...

Randall can't make a living in Santa Barbara because it's too special here, so he goes to Texas to do what he couldn't do in Santa Barbara..build high rises and tract homes. He uses that money to try to reduce building heights and get conservatives on the city council because they won't cater to unions and developers....He funds cheesy ads that claim Santa Barbara is in the grip of a crime wave and is being destroyed..and only he and his candidates can save it!!
this is where it all unravels..it doesn't make any sense...it's just puff talk, a bunch of bullshit...just conservative myths and nonsense about unions...this is a lame attempt to try and bust the city union and Randy and his neocon cohorts are hiding behind the Preserve our SB smokescreen
...they want to remove a fundamental American right to organize and bargain collectively..and the NewsPress is in bed with him, Dale Francisco, Mike Self, and Frank Hotchkiss...it's their hope and dream...but I got news for them..they won't bust the union..they can rant and rave about evil unions because they watch it on FOX NEWS, but the local SEIU represents about 800 city workers...the NewsPress tries to demonize the workforce that provides services for the public, but the fact is the union strikes fear in the private sector because of worker solidarity....Randall and the NewsPress need to control their workers...private companies that are not union tend to cut corners to make profits..I bet that's how Randy got rich in Texas (other than money mommy and daddy gave him) and I bet that's why he has so many complaints against his company for shoddy workmanship and shady business practices...so collectively these folks on the Measure B slate will try to weaken the workforce many of whom have lived here longer than Wolfie and paid more taxes...the real workers who are vested in California and Santa Barbara, not these fly by night Montecito trust funders who think they can buy the elections... don't fuck with the working class, Randy, you country club jackass!! or else the tooth fairy will pay you a visit!
