Famed High School Coach Oliva Charged with Child Rape in Massachusetts
Let me say something about this high school since my son went there. They only care about their sports programs and give lip service to educations.
Also, they don't care who attends the school by the amount of Gang Bamgers who attnded CTK during the time my son went there. He called it "a public school with uniforms."
From the New York Post:
Bob Oliva, the iconic Christ the King Regional High School basketball coach who resigned in disgraced amid sex abuse allegations last year, was charged today with child rape by Massachusetts prosecutors for an attack that allegedly occurred 33 years ago.
Oliva, 65, is accused of raping a then 14-year-old boy during a trip to Boston between July 31 to August 1, 1976.
Oliva, whose attorney did not immediately return a call for comment, was also charged disseminating pornography to minor, according to Jake Wark, a spokesman for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office in Boston.
"We’re in contact with his attorney and expect to schedule his surrender and arraignment in the near future," Wark said.
For thirty years Oliva was regarded as the best boy’s high school basketball coach in the region winning several titles and retiring with a 549-131 record.
He resigned last year and blamed the sexual abuse allegations for causing heart problems.
Massachusetts law allows sex abuse crimes to be prosecuted even after the statute of limitations expired if the alleged perpetrator left the state.
