still, I'd waltz across Texas with you...
I love Texas..the cowboys, the land of the free, the BBQs, Austin's music scene, King's Ranch, the Alamo, and the purty gals...so I was surprised when Texas let its Board of Education tamper with American history..I hope there will be a groundswell of Texans that stops this, but it may take all of America to root out these American Idiots known as the Texas Ten who have suggested that Thomas Jefferson, the guy who wrote the Declaration of Independence and who advocated the separation of church and state, is a commie! It’s long been said in Texas by Texan’s…
"Never let the Facts stand in the way of a good story".
but before you go to Texas, know the law!!
A program has been created in the state that attempts to control the weather.
Up to a felony charge can be levied for promoting the use of, or owning more than six dildos.
It is illegal for one to shoot a buffalo from the second story of a hotel.
The entire Encyclopedia Britannica is banned in Texas because it contains a formula for making beer at home.
The Texas Board of Education has been meeting this week to revise its social studies curriculum. During the past three days, "the board’s far-right faction wielded their power to shape lessons on the civil rights movement, the U.S. free enterprise system and hundreds of other topics":
– To avoid exposing students to "transvestites, transsexuals and who knows what else," the Board struck the curriculum’s reference to "sex and gender as social constructs."
– The Board removed Thomas Jefferson from the Texas curriculum, "replacing him with religious right icon John Calvin."
– The Board refused to require that "students learn that the Constitution prevents the U.S. government from promoting one religion over all others."
– The Board struck the word "democratic" from the description of the U.S. government, instead terming it a "constitutional republic."
in order to get Texas back on the right track, teaching instead of promoting ignorance, it will take lawyers, guns and money..we all have a stake in this...we can't let the The Texas Board of Education build a bridge to the 16th century!
let's all say a little prayer for Texas.....
